REST Is What We Need First

Rest is were life begins. Sit. Rest. Live.

We can busy ourselves in life.... eating, cleaning, watching, texting, reading, writing, shopping, meeting, doing..... and never ever find life.

Life is not what we make up it to be.

Life is a gift - we only start living when we learn how to rest.

As long as we lug around our hurts, our violators, our nemeses, our broken heart, our shattered dreams, and our mess.... we will never be able step into living life as it was initially meant to be for us. The life would should and could be living now!

The only way to find rest is in God.

Haven't  you tried so many other ways?  People do try so hard.... before they turn to God they try almost everything... or else they sit in a catatonic dullness of nothingness. Depressed. Exhausted. Near Dead.

Cry out to God! Run to Him. Fall into His arms and His presence. In God, you will find rest for your weariness.

God is real! Look around... everything you see... it is like living in a dream... it feels so real, so solid, so permanent. But all you see is temporal, physical. God is what you see when you wake up. The spirit world is life, the real eternal world.  Try to wrap your thoughts around this concept.

God created you. Jesus is real. He came to earth as a baby, lived as a young man, died on the cross as an adult, was buried on the third day.... but listen... I pray you will hear this in your hurting soul...

Jesus is not dead. He is LIFE. He rose from the dead. The stone closing his tomb rolled away and only the burial clothes were left behind. Jesus appeared alive to many who were His friends. They knew and believed He was certainly God, The Messiah they had long been awaiting.

And after a short time, Jesus was raised up into the heavenlies were He is seated on the throne. When we believe Jesus is God, when we trust that Jesus died and bore our horrible wreckage of suffering and sin on the cross. We were crucified with Him, our sinful nature nailed with Him on the cross....

This is the very reason we can by faith, by believing what God says is true, by agreeing with God... Jesus is our God, our Savior, our Redeemer.... and then we are able to enter REST!

I don't know about you, but for me, trudging around dragging my bag of skeletons clumped in my closet. It is so very tiring.

So many people feel God couldn't possibly want, help or love them.

YOU are the very ONE He is waiting for, long for you to in faith (in believing) to reach out to Him! Just cry out to Him.... when you trust Him with your life... it is then that you can REST. You are seated in the heavens with Jesus.

Think about it... when you are seated... you rest! Sit, rest on what supports you. Stop striving, doing, trying to be.... just rest!

God created the world in 6 days and made man and woman last. Why was that? So they could share the day of Rest with Him. Adam and Eve's first day was God's 7th! They had to rest in God, totally dependent and trusting in Him before they could be able to live life as He intended.

We can't do anything until we know what it is to rest in God. ...totally unloaded, totally clean, totally forgiven, totally new. When we rest, God gives us all we need. Everything we can't do, HE does. You can't give or do anything for God.... the moment you are not abiding in Him, allowing Him to flow through you, allowing Him to give and do through you, .... at this moment of trying so hard to be, you stop resting... and stop living.

Life always begins and gains it enabling strength when we let go, free fall to Him, suspending every muscles, cell, brain wave, relaxing. Of course, we don't stay lazily, sleeping our life away. How could we when we are filled up with God's life flowing spirit?

The sky has been totally overcast today... a mild windy fall day... as I began to write this post.

Now as I finish, I look out at the orange leaves so lightly bobbing as they hung on the limbs and as the wind stirs the leaves flap rapidly dancing to the breeze. They seemed to awakened as I wrote about resting. The evening sun, broke through the cloud and shone brightly, a spotlight given, for me to look up, peer out, and to see.... God is that light in our life.

He awakens our dreary overcast past and willingly exchanges it for a lively, rich present! No one can believe for you... that is one thing you must decide for yourself.

But I do encourage you to go ahead, let go, and REST! And He will do everything for you... He will show you and empower you to walk and stand like you never have known before.

Sit. Rest. Live.

Weak and Selfish - I am That Girl

The preacher says we are all the body of Christ...that each member is necessary, a part that functions in unison with all others, but God, in this life--in our time spent on earth--in present day local churches, this is not really true. It sounds good, repeated over and over, because the Bible says so and therefore we all should. But churches seek the best, the ones that fit their mold, the ones who meet their mission, the one that helps their goal. They keep track of numbers, saving all the souls, running them through baptism, collecting them in the fold. But those of us with broken parts, not shiny like the rest, we hear what no one else hears, we feel words with our soul, we sense when something isn't right, therefore we get left out in the cold. Who wants to work with such a pain, she is trouble where she goes, she stirs the pot and sifts for truth, she sees the thorns and not the rose. Why can't she just be silent, "if you don't like...

I Want To Be Normal

I want to help others but I can't help myself. I love and know God and trust Him too, but that doesn't stop my brain from being a jumbled mess.  Jumbled thoughts can be pretty! Scattered thoughts keep bombarding me.  I feel like a rattle-head.  I think I wrote once about this before, being a rattle-head . And it was the least-read post...Even I couldn't relate to it much after the episode passed. I have cried out to God for help this morning and for the past two days. I have gone to others for prayer and carefully, with exercising great inner control tried to explain to my family of three teens and my dear husband (I almost didn't want to say dear, oh, how hard it can be on a marriage--to twirl out of control and to not know why or how to make the top stop spinning). I don't know what pushed the top into its first spin.  And that is part of the problem I can't think clearly. I can't remember even simple things.  It is like the f...

Another Lost Day! (Life after child abuse trauma)

Another one.... another lost day.... they add up so much... so many lost days. Running on the inside, hurting on the outside. Words, oh so many words.... healing, clinging, cutting through, knowing, telling me what to do. And do I do it, or must I wait? And who can do it, or must I stay? Running on the outside, hurting on the inside. No one will see.... how they hurt me... No one will know.... pass by so slow. And does it really matter? Can it make sense? Is it so important? Looking through a lens..... Running for a living, hurting cause I'm dying. no hope, no flight, no chance, no life..... crystal spinning..... little eye lids close.... Is there any hope? Will it really help? Who will reach her know? No one seems to know? And does it really matter? Does anybody care? A blimp in the universe, with who will she share..... Can you hear it, getting louder, bellow screaming, shouting sounder? I can't hear a word. I can't see a sound. How can it be? I d...
